On behalf of KAWA, I would like to express my appreciation of our members, volunteers, and sponsors.<\/p>\n
With your involvement, we have been able to support our neighbors in multiple ways, including financially supporting their living conditions as they receive medical treatment; cooking and delivering meal-boxes made with love to those in end-stage cancer treatment; and helping to build a house for a family that lives in a mud hut in the mountainous region of Mexico. We are thankful for the opportunity to make clothes, socks, and hats for newborn babies from low-income families; to knit knee-blankets for patients in wheelchairs; to provide phone counseling for neighbors in need; and to sing in a choir for neighbors in nursing homes.<\/p>\n
We are also grateful for the opportunity to provide various lectures to support women\u2019s intellectual development; to offer scholarships to our younger generations; and to provide full scholarships that sponsor women’s enrollment in Certified Nursing courses and support their independent lives. We appreciate our volunteers and board members who helped us organize the afterschool Elementary Tutorial Program (ETP) for children at the Koreatown Youth & Community Center and distribute 2000 sandwiches at the community\u00a0holiday festival in December for children and their families.<\/p>\n
We thank God for sending all of you who pray and sponsor with all your hearts for KAWA, where warm and sympathetic hearts gather together to share love and care with our neighbors. We deeply appreciate everyone who supports us today and enables us to continue serving our communities.<\/p>\n

Dear Friends,<\/p>\n
It has been a great honor to serve as a chair-person for KAWA last three years. I would like for us to look back at the path we have taken and our achievements throughout the years. We have come a long way since the beginning and we could not have come this far if it wasn\u2019t for your support. My heart is filled with gratitude towards all of our supporters, volunteers and members. KAWA has been committed to serve the community by empowering women through Christian beliefs and values. We offer various community service programs such as talk-line counseling, visiting the homeless during Thanksgiving Holidays, preparing Christmas Luncheon for the ARS (Asian Rehabilitation Services), hosting Mother\u2019s Day Luncheon, providing portrait studio sessions yearly for seniors and distributing the portraits free of charge. In addition, we provide various workshops and seminars to educate and develop leadership skills in women of our community. For 2016, our theme was \u201cSharing Our Bliss.\u201d In accordance with the year\u2019s theme, KAWA contributed to disaster relief efforts and also to homeless children.<\/p>\n
